The Australian Coastal Dynamics Research Network proudly announces the 6th Australasian Young Coastal Scientists and Engineers Conference (AusYCSEC), set to inspire and connect the next generation of coastal innovators. Scheduled for Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 August 2026, this gathering promises to be a pivotal event for students, early career researchers, and young professionals in coastal geoscience and engineering.

AusYCSEC offers a unique platform where emerging talents can showcase their research amidst a supportive community of peers and seasoned experts. It’s more than just a conference; it’s a catalyst for forging lasting connections across disciplines and sectors, bridging academia, industry, and government.

Embracing the breadth of coastal geoscience and engineering, from physical processes to social impacts, AusYCSEC will delve into critical topics such as climate change effects, wave dynamics, coastal structures, and sustainable management practices. Attendees can anticipate enriching keynote addresses, engaging delegate presentations, and opportunities for professional growth through workshops and field excursions.

Themes are indicative only and conference sessions may differ depending on the submissions received.

We welcome the opportunity to learn from First Nations perspectives across all of the themes and encourage submissions from First Nations presenters, or abstracts that include traditional knowledge and perspectives.

Please download the official abstract template and prepare your single A4 page (maximum 300 words) document using the provided format. When uploading your finished abstract, please only upload a PDF (.pdf) version and fill out the form below. We will be in contact if there are any issues.
